What's new?

I had my 16 week appointment today and things are going well. I still feel sick in the mornings, but Zofran helps with that. Most of the day I feel good. My big ultrasound day is December 13th (3 weeks from today). I'm definitely excited to find out the gender, but it's not as big of a deal to me as it was with my first two. I honestly would be equally happy with either gender. I think most people assume that after 2 girls you would be desperate to have a boy, but I really don't care either way. Nate feels the same as me. Well, that's what he says at least.

I'm bummed that I've completely stopped running since I got pregnant. I mean, I don't blame myself because it's been somewhat hell-ish with the sickness and all, but I really miss being active. Not exercising ever is a crappy feeling. Really crappy. I keep waiting for some kind of energy boost and it's not happening. I'm soooo tired all the time. One of these days, I'm gonna get my butt to the gym. :)

We're flying to Las Vegas on Thursday for Thanksgiving! I'm excited. I think it will be lots of fun. My whole family will be there, so that's always great. And it's going to be in the upper 60's to low 70's, so that will be a nice little break. Plus, I love Thanksgiving dinner. Yum.

What else... hmm... that's all I can think of right now. Things are good though. I'm bummed that I'm losing my blogging motivation. I think the fact that we haven't had a working camera for the last few months is part of it. Well...

Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone!

Just some recent pics

Kate LOVES coloring. It's pretty cute. Except when it's on the walls.

Green Bluff Pumpkin Patch

Kate tried to hand us every pumpkin she saw. She calls them "puh-keems."

Paige loved her unicorn. She was pretty bummed when she woke up and it was all smeared.

Halloween

Here are the girls on Halloween night. Paige changed into her Ladybug costume so that she would be super warm for Trick-or-Treating.

Paige showing Nate how she can dance...

We had a ward Halloween party and Nate was a prison inmate. I bought that mullet wig for him. :)

Cute little chicken. Once again, I didn't dress up. Next year... I swear.

Arabian Princess

Paige went to a Halloween-themed birthday party this morning, so she got to wear her costume. She picked it out at TJ Maxx and she loves it. She originally wanted to be Ariel for Halloween, but she changed her mind when she saw this. I put some make-up on her this morning too, so she was pretty excited. She likes to pose for pictures, if you can't tell.

So...

I just read that one study found that women with severe nausea and vomiting in the first trimester were 50% more likely to be having a girl.

I've had pretty bad nausea/vomiting with all of my pregnancies. I wonder if I'm having another girl.

From your experience, do you think this study is true? In the past I've heard that bad morning sickness means you're probably having a girl, but I just thought it was an old wives tale.

The most whiny post ever

I told myself I would not complain about morning sickness this time around, but here goes...

It seems like people think that you aren't allowed to whine about being sick when you're pregnant because: 1.) You brought it upon yourself. 2.) Many women cannot have children, so you should just be thankful that you're pregnant.

Well for the record, I am very thankful that I am pregnant and being able to have children is not something that I take for granted. But I am still so miserable right now that I can't not talk about it. I feel awful all day long. The only time I don't feel awful is right after I throw up. Every morning when I wake up, I am so sad because I know that I have to face the nausea right away.

To make things worse, Nate is leaving on a 9-day trip to the Philippines tomorrow. Just for fun. (He will be there with his old mission companion, who has been there many times.) So that's gonna be awesome for me.

It's probably best that I don't post much for the next few weeks because believe me... you don't want to hear it.

P.S. The good news: I get to have an ultrasound and my first prenatal appointment on Friday the 30th. Can't wait!
