Here are some pictures from Paige's surgery today for her clogged tear ducts (in chronological order). We had to wait for 2 hours before she finally went in, and that was really hard because she was really tired and hungry. She was not allowed to eat beforehand because of the anesthesia. There were some fun toys in the waiting area though, so it wasn't too bad. When they finally took her away to the operating room we decided to run down to the cafeteria to get some breakfast real quick. As we were finishing up, we heard an announcement on the intercom: "Will the parents of Paige please call the operator." I was kind of freaking out because I thought something was wrong, but it turned out that she was done and they were looking for us. I felt like a neglectful parent! As we came into the recovery room, I could hear Paige crying a little bit and she was just waking up from the anesthesia. She was looking all over for us and all she could see was strangers. Then she saw me and reached for me to pick her up, but I couldn't because she was hooked up to some monitors. She had bloody tears running down her face and she looked so sad. But I was able to nurse her right away, and then everything was fine. We're home now and she is asleep. I think she will sleep a lot today. We're just really hoping the surgery was a success and her ducts will stay open.

We are glad everything went well. So sorry she had to wait so long and go so long without eating. Give her a hug and kiss from us.

how scary ... i'm glad she's ok. i would have been shakin' in my boots. keep us updated.
she's SO cute!
Oh, she is so cute!! I have NO tear tucts in one of my eyes.. Weird. I know. So, when I cry, I only cry out of one eye. Really weird.
How old is she?? You are still nursing?? YOU GO GIRL!!
Sounds like everything went well that is so great. Thank goodness for doctors.
That is great everything went well. Brody has a clogged tear duct. It is alot better than it was originally but it still looks like he has a wet eye always on one side. Was it really bad the whole time? I don't want to have to deal with surgery.
I'm glad that everything went well. Poor kid! Sad to see the babies in pain, or scared.
oh, sweet paige. i had eye surgery (a different kind though) when i was about paige's age and my mom said it was harder on her than it was on me. it's a good thing babies are so resilient! and speaking of babies, i just added more photos of kathryn's baby to my blog...i think lily and paige should have a cute-off. i'm pretty sure i know who would win...
Thanks for posting this so quickly! My little babe will have eye surgery this week, and it's nice to see things going well for you. I was told that the cry as they wake up it excruciating... but it sounds like yours was OK. I'm so glad. You keep me hoping for the best.
I'm glad it all went well. That would be so hard watching her be so hungry and not be able to do anything about it.
