I bought this at Target today. I'm hoping it will change my life. Shopping with Paige is traumatic for me every single time. I dread it.When I pulled the monkey out of the box, Paige started giving it kisses and saying, "Muh-kee! Muh-kee!"
Little does she know, this innocent little monkey is actually a restraining device. :)
P.S. I have been warned that I can expect stares and rude comments from strangers because of the whole "leash" thing. Well... I'm not gonna stand for it. I'm going to respond to every rude comment or glare I see, and it may not be pleasant.

we have a monkey, we use it at church every sunday. It's great!
Roll out your dough like normal. Then melt a stick of butter and spread it all around. Then do a layer of brown sugar and coconut. That's it. It's so tasty! Sounds like a good treat for the bachelor!
Ha ha ha! I bought Hallie one a couple of weeks ago for the same reason. Right after I bought it we went to the mall. One kid saw her, started laughing, and said, "it's like she's a dog!" I felt a little self conscious anyways and that sealed the deal. And a few people were staring at us and I even heard some say "Oh, its a leash for your kid...". I took it back. Hallie really loved it though.
Hmm, I didnt really think about that. I don't know what else to do though! Its SO hard to go anywhere with her. I think its better for people to stare and make comments than for her to run off and get hurt or lost or kidnapped.
We have a 'leash' thingy too but haven't used it much yet. Let me know how it works!
We have the same monkey, I think it's adorable and Rowan thinks it's fun. And yes, it's like a leash, but for safety sake. If it keeps them from running out in front of a car or getting lost, it's worth people's weird looks.
After Trevor got lost at SeaTac mall when he was about 2, I bought a "leash". I got a few nasty comments like "are you walking your Dog?" but it's better than loosing your kid. MOM
Ok, now I'm getting nervous about the stares and comments. Eek. We'll see. I'm gonna come up with a great comeback! Ha! I think it will involve a PUNCH IN THE FACE!
i have one too! and i DON'T care if i get one stare or one comment. I have the type of personality where I will say something rude right back, but it's better then having to hold your 30lb child throughout a store! :) don't you worry bout it, most people that start don't have kids :)
We have one of those for Eden. I think they are the best. I think it's funny how it looks like I am walking a puppy, that's the fun of it! ;-) I don't remember ever getting stares, but maybe that's just because I was laughing at myself.
Eden would NEVER hold our hands when we went out walking a few months ago..and it was driving me nuts, so it worked great for us. Now, she asks to hold our hands so we don't use it as often, but they are the best invention if you ask me.
We used one on Patrick at Disneyland and he just walked around like he was in his own parade waving at people.
My sister puts her boys on leashes like that and she gets all kinds of rude remarks. She replies by stating she hasn't lost one yet.
People can be so rude.
Scarlet has the monkey too. It's pretty cute.
