The other day, I was on Pinterest and stumbled upon a way to make Thin Mints. Check it out here.
You just melt chocolate chips, add peppermint extract, dip ritz crackers in it, and then let the chocolate set up.
I was sceptical. I thought, That sounds kinda gross. I doubt they really taste like Thin Mints. But I decided to try them out. Except, I used Andes Mints because I have tons of them (Nate used to give them out to doctors with his Pfizer job). Anyway, I just melted a bunch of them in a bowl, dipped the crackers in and got a nice thick layer of chocolate on them, set them on a plate, and put them in the freezer. Less than 10 minutes later, I pulled them out and...
they were really good!! And pretty much the easiest, fastest treats you could ever make. So now I'm in trouble. I call them Fat Mints. We all know they're not gonna make me thin.
Try it out! You'll see. Or be smart and don't try them ever.

Bedhead
When Kate walked into my room this morning I couldn't stop laughing.
I thought you'd like to see it from all angles.
I didn't do anything to enhance this mess. This is exactly how it looked. Hilarious, huh?

Paige is 5!!
Paige turned 5 on July 17th. I can't believe I have a 5 year old! Paige really wanted a big party with lots of friends and family, but that wasn't gonna work since we're new here and far from family.
So instead, she and I got our nails done together and we all ate at Red Robin. She loves that place. It was so cute when they started singing to her. She had a huge smile on her face.

Halle is 2 1/2 months old. She is probably our easiest baby so far. She is really content most of the time, she rarely spits up, she sleeps pretty well, etc. Paige and Kate were not difficult babies or anything, but Halle just seems easier. It also helps that I'm more laid back with #3 than I was with the first two.
She often has a really concerned look on her face.
But she smiles a lot too.
We got a trampoline a few weeks ago. The girls don't use it as often as I hoped they would, but it's sure nice when they do. I like the peace and quiet when they're outside. Our backyard is crazy small, but at least we could fit that.

The grass is ALWAYS greener...
I'm so annoyed with myself. I suffer from The Grass Is Always Greener Syndrome and I really need to change it. Maybe just getting this off my chest will help...
I really liked living in Liberty Lake. I always knew that area had a lot to offer, and there are a million things that make it great, but after a while I was ready for a change. Nate kept telling me that we would never find an area like Liberty Lake again. He always reminded me of the things we would miss about it, but I just didn't feel like Liberty Lake was our final destination. So I was excited about moving to Vancouver because it was something new and different. But now, big surprise... I'm missing Liberty Lake so badly. I knew I would miss it, but I didn't think it would be this hard.
Don't get me wrong, this area is really nice. It's beautiful and there are lots of things to see, do, eat, etc. Plus, my best friend from high school is not too far away. (I'm so glad you're here, Jenn!) But I'm still longing for the place we called home. I wonder if I would love this area just as much as Liberty Lake if I had been living here for the past 5 years. Maybe I would.
But for now, I'm just really missing my old life. I miss my ward, my friends and family, my neighborhood... lots of things. Plus, Nate is so much busier with work now than he was in Liberty Lake, so I just feel so alone here. I know it's gonna get better, but for now this is hard.
Thanks for listening.
