Good News and Bad News

The good news is that I'm still pregnant, and I'm having pretty much every pregnancy symptom in the book. That is reassuring!!

The bad news is that I am really sick, and it lasts all day long. I'm trying not to complain too much, but its really hard feeling so awful all the time. I feel like I can hardly function lately.

Luckily, the good news totally outweighs the bad news. Phew. But still... this is hard.

Tonight is the night!

I know not everyone watches the Bachelorette, but I'm definitely a fan. I just want to say a few words about Jillian's 3 options.

Reid:
He's cute, funny, sweet, and honest. He seems like a real, genuine guy and I think he has a great personality.

Ed:
Not so much of a personality. I just think he's lame and I really don't get good vibes from him. I can't really describe it, but there is just something wrong.

Kiptyn:
Cute and nice, but not very fun or interesting. I just don't think there is a lot going on up there. He is sweet and all, but he doesn't seem like a guy who would commit. I just don't see a lasting relationship with him and Jillian.

So who's it gonna be? I can't wait to find out. I kind of think she will choose Ed, but I hope she doesn't.
UPDATE:
Yeah, I was afraid it would be Ed. Lame.

Happy Birthday Paige!

Paige turned 2 on Friday, and unfortunately, we didn't do a whole lot for her birthday because it was a rough weekend. But we made cupcakes and sang to her on Sunday at Nate's brother's house.

Sorry I cut the video off so soon. That was lame.

She got this cute tutu, a crown, some books, and a dress from Grandma and Grandpa Carter

She got this fun table and chairs set from Grandma and Grandma Carver. She likes to eat her meals at the little table now.

Crazy Crazy Crazy

The past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster.

Up until today, I did not know with 100% certainty whether or not I was having a miscarriage. (The ER doctor was 70% sure. I don't know how that works.) I had multiple symptoms of an impending miscarriage, and on Friday I felt pretty dang sure I was, but those symptoms stopped completely on Saturday and I have had zero symptoms since. That made me wonder what the heck was going on. So...

Today I requested to have my blood tested again to see if the pregnancy hormones were going up or down, based on that first blood test I had in the ER on Saturday. This would tell me for sure if I had miscarried or was about to miscarry. In a healthy pregnancy, those hormones are supposed to double about every 2 days. If they drop at all, or just go up a little bit, the result is almost always a miscarriage.

The nurse at my OB's office told me she would call me in the morning with the results. Well.... she got the results faster than planned and... THE NUMBER HAS DOUBLED SINCE SATURDAY!!!

Basically, I am still pregnant and it looks like things might work out after all. The nurse was really excited to give me the news and she thinks I will probably be just fine. I have not had any cramping, spotting, backache, etc since Saturday. I am so happy and relieved and shocked. I really hope everything is smooth from here on out.

Thanks for all of your sweet comments and your prayers!!

Coldplay- July 11th

Google images of "The Gorge"

We went to see Coldplay last weekend at "The Gorge Amphitheater" in George, Washington (funny huh?). Its a really awesome concert theater about halfway between Spokane and Seattle, completely in the middle of nowhere. Its known for hippies and weed, but luckily we had a weed-free experience. It was our second time seeing Coldplay and it was great. They are my favorite band by far. Chris Martin has so much energy and he makes it all really fun.

After a while, the band decided come up in the crowd and play a few songs. We were lucky because they ended up playing right in front of us.

We were packed in there like sardines. I guess that's what happens when you get general admission tickets.

Crappy day

Well, I guess my fears were valid. It looks like I'm going to lose this baby. I went to the hospital today (Saturday) and the doctor said there is a 70% chance I am having a miscarriage. I already knew I was, but I was hoping that somehow they would tell me that everything was fine. I can't believe it.

Even though I knew there was always the possibility of another miscarriage, I felt really hopeful and positive about this pregnancy. I just didn't think this would happen again.

I've decided not to let myself get excited over a positive pregnancy test until the baby is actually born.

This sucks.

R.E.L.A.X.

I'm feeling more and more nervous lately about the possibility of another miscarriage. But at the same time I am really trying to relax and enjoy this. I am so happy to be pregnant, but its just hard to fully enjoy it and soak it all in when you have that fear hanging over your head. I think I will be able to breath a little easier as soon as we have our ultrasound and see that the baby looks healthy. 3 more weeks...
I guess there are always a lot of fears when you are pregnant. There are so many things that can go wrong, and I tend to worry more than the average person anyway.

I think I might take up yoga. Seriously.

p.s. If I do yoga, will I look like her?
