If we did get one, it would be an outside dog for sure, and I feel like we have enough room outside, but there is the poop problem. Nate says we can train the dog to poop in a sand box. I'm gonna do some research about that. No one wants poop all over their yard, right?
Here are some breeds we are looking at:
Golden Retriever (my favorite)
They are the sweetest, most loyal dogs ever. But not good guard dogs, which is a downside.

Yellow Lab
Possibly a little too energetic.

American Eskimo (Nate's all-time favorite)
Really sweet, smart, and also good guard dogs.
For any dog-lovers out there, what are your favorite breeds? And for any non-dog-lovers, shame on you. just kidding.

Yikes, Trent wants to get a dog too. I finally made him agree that we wouldn't get a dog until Tru was potty trained... so if Tru is 5 and not potty trained you'll know why. sorry, I know nothing about breeds or anything.
shame on me. :)
I absolutely love dogs and think you should get one so I can live vicariously through you. I love rotweillers and black labs. And bulldogs. But I think big dogs are the best family dogs.
I love dogs obviously but I only think you should get it if your gonna put the work into it...i hate it when people get dogs and don't train it or play with it or anything...it makes me sad. I love Golden retreivers too but I think you should consider the humane society...they have so many dogs there and when you get dogs from pet stores and breeders thats another dog that has to die at the shelter. And believe or not they have a lot of puppies at the shelter. We are getting a 9 month old German Shorthaired pointer from the shelter tomorrow. Anyway I'll step off my soapbox now but really....keep in mind the shelters or even breed rescues.
haha no your blog didn't make it sound that way at all. sorry if i sounded like i was implying you were that way. when i said "you should only get it if..." I meant you as in anyone.
I love the husky dog ... I used to have one but she passed away from cancer ... they are the best but are very very hairy and shed everywhere. Something to think about
