The past two nights in a row something really weird has happened. Almost the same exact story both nights.
About an hour after Paige fell asleep, I heard her laughing hysterically. I ran upstairs, thinking, what the heck is going on?
I went into her room and she was laying on her side, with her eyes open, looking straight ahead, and just giggling and laughing really loud.
It was so creepy!!
You might think it sounds funny. Nope. It was weird.
So I crouched down by her and said, "Paige, what's so funny?"
She ignored me and kept laughing. It was as if she couldn't hear me or see me. She was looking in my direction, but never acknowledged my presence.
I'm pretty sure she was totally asleep. Both times I couldn't get her to respond or even really look at me.
After a couple minutes she went back to sleep. But I was truly freaked out. I think the fact that Nate has been gone for a couple days doesn't help. I am so jumpy and paranoid already.
So, I'm wondering if this is going to be a recurring incident. Is Paige a sleep-laugher?

I just got the chills reading this post. That's the creepiest thing I've ever heard. Sleep-walking / talking / movement in general is so weird to me. But laughing? Eek. I would have been freaking out too. Although it does kind of make me laugh.
I don't know why that happened. I'm sure there's other people out there who have sleep-laughed before.
Thats is so creepy crazy. One time right after Oakley was born Aiden went through a phase where he said he was scared of the monkeys in his room and he would stare up at his ceiling totally freaked out and his head would move around as if he was following the movement of something. It totally scared me! But the laughing thing...yikes. Of course I'm sure she was just in a deep sleep though and was laughing over something funny in her dream. Right?
So Noah does this too and has done it for over a year. He will just laugh or have a converstation for like 15-30 min. I read about it and it's very common with kids and they are usually just sleeping. They say it's the same when they wake up crying and they look wide awake but they are freaked out and aren't acting the same ...
That would be freaky.

Maybe she was laughing with her other siblings that want to come down ... you and Nate should get crackin' on that !! lol ... jk - not sure what she's doing ... but I totally sleep talk and walk sometimes ... more when I was younger. I was dreaming with my eyes open and even talked to people - but the view from the outside was - strange girl ! Because not everything I said made sense within the conversation I was having !! Weird I know ... but it can happen - so, Paige isn't that bizare !!
