You are not a bad mom at all. Sometimes babies just aren't ready to do things yet and you can't force them. I'm sure there are things Paige knows how to do that other babies don't. I just keep telling myself that it can't last forever. Little by little she'll get better at it. It is sad to hear them crying bloody murder and sometimes it's just not worth it!
I don't judge you at all. Being a mom is hard work and making decisions is even harder work. Like I said before, it's very hard for me to not rock Breanna when I know it'll help her and I get to sleep SOOO much quicker.
You need your sanity, so do what works for you and Paige for now. If you decide that you want to try again later, do it, if not, honestly who cares!!! I was just talking to a lady who ALWAYS nursed her baby to sleep. Now her baby is 22 months and just weaned a few months ago from nursing. She said she had no problems getting her to sleep, she just rubs her back and sings to her now to get her comfortable to go to sleep, so....I swear people make big deals out of nothing sometimes.
I thought certain things were really important to teach Breanna, but now I realize, honestly, they did not matter.
Hang in there and do what works for you guys. I can't wait til you guys make it over this way, we miss you! I can't believe Paige is so old already!

I think I am going to have the same problem! I will do anything so that Scarlett wont cry...even if it means her sleeping next to me.
